Milk & plant milks
A latte takes about eight ounces of milk and a cold-brew splash about two, so the carton you buy shows up in the price of every drink. Organic cartons and ones with short ingredient lists come first.
What clean means here: USDA Organic, or the shortest ingredient list
“Barista” cartons add an oil and minerals so the milk foams; a three-ingredient carton foams less. For dairy, organic is the claim that gets checked. We left out a budget pick on purpose. The cheap option is grocery whole milk at about six cents an ounce (the calculator’s default), not a case of cartons.
